For your visits and days out in the Cotentin region, the Cormoran has made an information area for you, where you can find all the tourist information you will need.

Included are suggestions for walks or bike rides through the Cotentin national park.

And So that you can discover the region to its fullest, bikes are available for hire at the campsite.

Every dreamt of flying?

...Well at the Ecausseville balooning centre you can do just that (13km from the campsite)!
Jean-Pierre David and his team have the following flying machines:
the"aéroplume", first machine to be powered by the pilot flapping his wings like a bird
the "Ciccio" is a 9.5 metre long 1-man blimp with flapping wings and a deltaplane cocoon harness (for adults).
the "Nino", with an 8m wingspan, can carry children from 30-45kg. From the pilots nest the child adjusts the ballast in order to take off.... and discover the magic of flying.

Tatihou, a musical extravaganza out at sea

A real gem of a discovery, the "Traversées Tatihou" offers a little something out of the ordinary : starting from Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, follow the causeway that emerges at low tide to go to the île Tatihou to enjoy the sounds of music from around the world.
On this islet, the gulls and cormorants look out on the horizon before the concert begins. The concerts timings will vary according to the tides, and for one week per year, to get to the festival "des musiques du large" you will have to wade through the sea at low tide.
The lineup largely consists of sea songs, in keeping with the setting. This event aims to honour, in it's own way, the mariners of these islands and shores where the land stops and the sea starts.

Every year, the anniversary of the landings takes place.

During the week of the 6th of june, the camping beats to the rythmn of the commemoration ceremonies for the Normandy landings.

The collectors of historical vehicles wind back the hands of time and you feel the drama of D-Day as you round a bend or a tent...

These reconstructions and processions are a great way for children to learn about the history of their ancestors.
