A real gem of a discovery, the "Traversées Tatihou" offers a little something out of the ordinary : starting from Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, follow the causeway that emerges at low tide to go to the île Tatihou to enjoy the sounds of music from around the world. On this islet, the gulls and cormorants look out on the horizon before the concert begins. The concerts timings will vary according to the tides, and for one week per year, to get to the festival "des musiques du large" you will have to wade through the sea at low tide. The lineup largely consists of sea songs, in keeping with the setting. This event aims to honour, in it's own way, the mariners of these islands and shores where the land stops and the sea starts. |
